2 donkeys, 3 mountains, 1 potato ant and 2 sore feet
Today was the big 25+km day, and I'm please to say I've survived! With the sun not rising till 8.30am it's a bit hard to make an early start but I left Portamarin at 8am when it was barely light. The first 45mins was like summiting a ski hill and not how I expected to start the day! But after that initial shock the trail was full of pilgrims greeting each other Buen Camino! There were 2 donkeys walking the trail and before the last mountain we stopped at a cafe and there were ant sculptures in the garden- no idea why, just another random appearance!
Well I'm off to soak my feet in the pool, no albergues for me! I've chosen to stay in hotels or pensions, although the more traditional pilgrim will stay in an albergue which is like a hostel but it's generally a large room with 20+ camp beds and shared bathrooms.
Till next time
