Me and Casanova
After spending the night in a converted windmill and having a pilgrims breakfast of coffee and toast it was just a short 4km walk to the town of Casanova. The scenery was picturesque with gum trees (yes like Australian gums) as well as pine trees. Cows were being milked and the fog was lifting for a very hot day ahead. Not too many hills today but lots of idle chatter from the pilgrims telling their stories of home. I've come across many Canadians, Irish, Spanish and even a few Australians!
Today was also the crossing of the half way mark with less than 55kms to go, it now seems very achievable. I can only image how the pilgrims who are completing the 800km must feel.
Tonight I'm resting up in Melide and going to try "the best hamburger on the Camino" - purportedly!
