Not sure if any Pilgrams stayed here
Today was another hilly encounter. With every leg burn going up there was the equally difficult decent as it's all on gravel paths that can be quite slippery. There is plenty of farming in the region with corn being harvested. Lots of cows leaving their mark (and odour - Lachlan would need air freshener) dogs and some sheep. I crossed four rivers, actually some were more like trickling creeks, and the path often crossed with the busy highway. Not as many pilgrims on the way today as I think many may have tried to get to Santiago de Compostela for the pilgrim mass where the incense is swung once a week on Friday - apparently in days gone by the incense was to cover the disease and smell coming from the pilgrims! So it has been a beautiful day tipped off by my accomodation being in a historic Galician Hospederia where Galician nobility lived in the XVIII century. I doubt too many pilgrims stayed here but this modern day pilgrim is pretty happy with herself tonight.
Only 40kms to go!
